After setting up Blue Elephant restaurants in Brussels (1980), London (1986), Copenhagen (1990) and Paris (1991), Chef Nooror and her husband discovered the Old Thai Chine Building in Bangkok, in the year 2000. They instantly fell in love with its unique architecture, history and location. Thus was born the Blue Elephant Cooking School and Restaurant in 2002. Chef Nooror and her husband Mr. Steppe’s dream to develop and train chefs to understand and spread the Blue Elephant culinary philosophy finally took wing.
The Blue Elephant Restaurant and Cooking School, Phuket, which opened shortly thereafter is located at the site of the Phra Pitak Chinpracha Mansion. This equally historic 105 year old landmark, is built in an elegant Sino-Portuguese style.
A typical day at our schools will commence with a visit to the morning market accompanied by our instructor, where you will learn to carefully choose the perfect ingredients for your Thai cooking lessons. This is followed by the instructor-led class. The session ends with a delightful meal in our restaurant. There you will sample your own cooking, as well as authentic Thai dishes prepared by us.
Our classrooms are fully equipped with the necessary facilities. You will be guided by an experienced and knowledgeable instructor. The Blue Elephant Cooking School invites participants to discover, relish and replicate the many culinary wonders of Royal Thai cuisine.
